Mark Towne came to the Show from Trinity, Texas, with a simple invention that should appeal to golfers who love to practice – the Portable Driving Range.

The PDR is the answer to a dilemma experienced at times by all skilled players: How to practice short wedge shots at various distances.

The PDR provides an innovative solution. It is a two-wheeled cart, like a golf cart. One of the wheels contains a distance measuring device.

Also mounted on the cart are three flags. A golfer uses the cart to measure three different wedges distances, planting a flag at each.

The cart also holds a shag bag that can be wheeled around during practice. In other words, the PDR is a self-contained unit that does it all.

The retail price is about $69, which includes everything but the shag bag. Prospective customers should visit www.pdrgolf.com for up-to-date information, because Towne came to Orlando with a product that was still in production and had never been sold to a single golfer.

“We’ll be ready for customers very soon,” Towne said. “This is a darn good product, and we’re proud of it.”
